Windows 10 cannot discover or access NAS After I upgraded my home PC to Windows 10, my NAS was gone from Windows 10 network. Although accessing its web server thru IP is still available, it’s not idea for streaming use case since most streaming client apps only work well with file system. To toggle that issue, it cost me a few hours to search a viable solution. So I think it deserves a note here. The issue can be divide into 2 parts - discovery and access. Discovery After Windows 10 (or 8), SMB version has been updated to 3. It seems a networked host must support the new version to be discovered by a Windows 10 PC. In my case, upgrading my NAS OS to have WS-Discovery works. The NAS became visible after upgrading. If not, make sure the WS-Discovery option being enabled. Access Accessing a networked host require authentication, it’s still unclear what the default behavior when Windows 10 try to authenticate. What I confronted was that nothing prompt to let me
